Technical Sales Representative – EV Performance

AEM Performance Electronics is looking for a technical salesperson to assist with the growth of its new EV Products Division, AEM EV.

We are looking for a hunter, someone who is results-driven and who will actively seek out and engage potential customers through prospecting, cold calling, and internal lead follow-up.

While this role is in the Sales Department, qualified candidates must possess the technical acumen needed to support our products in the field. This requires the ability to provide complete and appropriate solutions for every customer in order to boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels, and profitability.

The Following Skills are Essential for Success:

  • Experience as an automotive EV integrator, ideally performing EV conversions, is strongly desired
  • Comprehensive understanding of, and experience with performance engine tuning
  • A proven understanding of data analysis and analysis software
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven sales track record
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to a prospect’s needs
  • Proven relationship management skills and openness to feedback
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrable prioritization, time management, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with BRM and CRM practices along with the ability to build productive business relationships
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.)
  • Experience with AEM Electronics products and software (AEMtuner, AEMdata, InfinityTuner, DashDesign, AEMcal) a major plus
  • Work experience in the automotive performance aftermarket preferred
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent a plus but not required

Here’s What You Will Do:

  • Present, promote, and sell products/services via a thorough understanding of AEM EV’s technological advantages, and core beliefs
  • Be willing to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Perform cost-­benefit and needs analysis for existing/potential customers to ensure pull-through and to discover upsell opportunities
  • Establish and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold calling
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments
  • Analyze territory/market potential, track sales by territory, and provide status reports
  • Provide management with reports on customer needs, issues, interests, competitive activities, and opportunities for developing new products and services
  • Stay abreast of best practices and promotional trends
  • Continuously improve through feedback and effort
